국회국제보건의료포럼 2018: 유전자 차별 금지법의 국제 동향Korean Parliamentarian Forum on Global Health 2018: Genetic Discrimination in the World

우리나라는 생명과학기술에서 생명윤리 및 안전을 확보하여 인간의 존엄과 가치를 보장하고, 국민의 건강과 삶의 질 향상을 위하여 필요한 생명과학기술을 개발·이용할 수 있는 제도적 장치를 마련하기 위한 목적으로 2004년 「생명윤리 및 안전에 관한 법률」을 제정하였습니다. 개인의 유전 정보가 널리 활용될수록, 유전자 정보를 이용한 사회적 차별에 대한 위험성에 대한 우려의 목소리 또한 높아지고 있습니다. 따라서 국회국제보건의료포럼에서는 유전자 정보 차별 금지에 대한 국가별 법제 현황을 공유하고 향후 법제 방향과 정책 모형에 대한 논의를 하고자 합니다. 많은 관심과 참여 부탁 드립니다.

To offer a legal basis for the development and use of bioscience technology and a prerequisite of improving people’s health and quality of life as well as respecting their dignity and virtue, Republic of Korea enacted the 「Bioethics and Safety Act」 in 2004. However, as an individual’s genetic information is widely used, there are concerns about the potential risk of social discrimination based on genetic information. The Korean Parliamentarian Forum on Global Health aims to share each countries current legislation status regarding genetic information nondiscrimination and discuss about future legislate direction and policy model. We look forward to welcoming you at the forum.
